Dear Mr. Nelson,
Thank you for all you have done as a Muppeteer! Your contributions
to the amazing entity that is the Muppets are an inspiration.
Generations of children and adults are made that much better because
of the time and effort you have put into making your characters
what they are. Your hard work and dedication to the various Henson
projects will always be remembered fondly. Your ability to make
each and every character you perform individual and loveable is
something to be incredibly proud of. Thanks once again!

Mr. Nelson has had a great impact
on me as a puppeteer and voice actor. The various appearances
of background characters he has brought to life taught me the
importance of a puppeteer's movements even when they were speechless,
and his variety of different voices has given me a lot of personal
encouragement in the area. That guy is a guru in the puppet field.

As a child, I remember watching
Jerry perform Herbert Birdsfoot, Herry Monster, The Count, and
the original Snuffy on Sesame Street.
At 11 years old, I would watch
him perform such Muppets as Floyd, Crazy Harry, Thog and many
others from The Muppet Show. There is one moment where he sang
New York State of Mind. Then there was when he sang Halfway Down
the Stairs as Robin.
At 17, I watched Fraggle Rock
with my little nieces and nephews. I enjoyed when he played Gobo,
Pa Gorg, and the Trash Heap. (The Trash Heap has spoken)
To me this talented being is
the Mel Blanc of the puppet world. I was disappointed when I did
not see Floyd or hear him in "It's A Very Muppet Christmas."
I heard Pops and Robin for only a few minutes.
I have just one wish, and that
is to shake the hand of this gifted artist, and to thank him for
inspiring me into the puppetry world.

I want to let you know that
you will always be the man with the golden voice.
When I was 5, I watched my first
Sesame Street and enjoyed your talents with Sherlock Hemlock,
Snuffy, The Count, and of course Mumford. When I was 11, Flyod
was the groovy hipster. Crazzy Harry kept blowing things apart.
I enjoyed many other Muppets that you had performed on The Muppet
Show. In 1982, I watched the first Fraggle Rock to the last show.
I enjoyed you as Gobo, Pa Gorg, and the Trash Heap, as well as
others.
I want to thank you for you
gift of song and humour. You are one of many talents that kept
the dream of Jim Henson alive.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
David E. Counterman,
One of the true Muppet Fans

Jerry you are vunderfull!
I grew up learning from my family
that math was a "boy's world," and I needn't try hard.
The Count was so fun that I forgot to not learn.
Sesame Street "grew up"
with me, and I checked in throughout my teen years, and even my
adult years, just for fun.
Now I'm in my 40s with my first
and beautiful 3 year old daughter. From our first week at home
together, we counted and delighted in the number of the day with
the Count!
Now, she knows her numbers,
and is beginning to learn math. I'm so proud and pleased. She
loves Sesame Street and wears a Count Hoodie all the time.
By the way, I just graduated
college - a life long dream. Count helped me to forget not to
learn. The whole Sesame Street gig helped encourage a love of
learning.
Count, our family loves you.
And I thank you. Vunderfull, Vunderfull!

Thank you Jerry for all the
magnificent muppeteering/performancing on Sesame Street and other
shows over the years. The Count is still one of my favorite characters
even as I'm 16, I still love him very much.
