Additional Information

Okasan is a world different than ours, so this Pg is created so one can understand it. Information on things like vocabulary, customs, race, positions, countries, and other things distinguishable of Okasan (and other places) can be found here.

Guaranteed, though, that not every question you may have on this comic will be answered here. If you are wondering about something concerning the plot and whatnot, then that is something you will have to wait until a future comic Pg comes up. I hate spoiling stuff ^^;

1 of "Tears"
  • Nanay = meaning "mother" in Filipino. This is a dream of someone's mother through his point of view.

6 of "Tears"
  • Sanwah Hill is a special hill in a graveyard in Shokah, the country's capital, where only members of the Tawakara Family are buried.

  • By tradition, the Emperor would attend all family funerals, no matter how busy he is.

9 of "Tears"
  • By law ordered by the First Emperor of Siquotia and never removed or changed, no one--absolutely no one-- is allowed in the Emperor's bedroom, with the exception of the Empress and their children. Not even the Prime Minister, the Emperor's right hand man, is allowed inside.
15 of "Tears"
  • The location of this comic is in Sokoku, a state in the kingdom of Siquotia. All of Sokoku is snowy, and blizzards are somewhat of the norm. The denizens don't need to worry much about the cold, as many of them have fur plus the thermal robes to keep them warm. The robes are also very effective as they are worn by the cold-blooded and furless anthros in that region. Cloaks such as the one the Emperor is wearing adds additional warmth, so it is not difficult to be toasty warm in the icy world of Sokoku.
17 of "Tears"
  • There is a room close to the Emperor's bedroom dedicated to all the past Emperors and other family members of the Tawakara family.
19 of "Tears"
  • Shokah, Sokoku's capital city and the location of the Emperor's Palace, is a large city surrounded and protected by a tall stone wall. Lanterns built high off the ground act as guides to the city by outsiders who wish to visit.
22 of "Tears'
  • As explained on  37 of the same chapter, the Taong race is a race of anthros of mixed animal parts. All Tao living in Sokoku are slaves to the Yutaka race (the race inhabiting Sokoku)
26 of "Tears"
  • The Prime Minister doesn't know it, but he just explained the poor state of Siquotia, as many regions, especially Shokah, are impoverish, warring, and overall just in a horrible state.
27 of "Tears"
  • There is one long and wide river flowing from Shokah known as the Zeizarah River. This river will be an important element in the comic, as it is also one of the few rivers that almost never freezes.
28 of "Tears"
  • Shacks and houses made for the commoners are called "Claytents", for they're literally tents made out of clay. Additional walls are made on the side to cover up inhabitants from the cold, and a hole is made on the ceiling for a chimney made for warmth and cooking. The rest of the small building is space for various furniture, and usually claytents are usually big enough to keep in a small family of five.
29 of "Tears"
  • So far the only two spoken languages featured in the comic are English and Tagalog (the language the boy is speaking in his sleep). In reality, what is "English" is translated "Yutakanese", and what is "Tagalog" is translated "Taong".
